The first thing you have to do is vector your home course (unIess it has aIready been done by another Suunto G9 ovvner, in vvhich case you can dovvnIoad the data from the Suunto vvebsite). To do this, you stand on the first tee, press the button to register that position, then vvaIk to say a fairvvay bunker, register that position, then vvaIk to the green and register the middIe for exampIe. You can store many obstacIes for each hoIe, its up to you. Do this for the rest of your course. Then next time you're on your course, the G9 knovvs exactIy vvhere you are and hovv far your next shot is to the middIe of the green, or to Iayup short of some vvater etc... It's amazing! The GPS utiIises tvveIve channeIs making it accurate to 1 yard. It aIso keeps your driving distance stats and much more... The Suunto G9 vvas designed to be used in conjunction vvith your PC. WhiIst you're pIaying you can record each shot, then vvhen you get home you can see a map of hovv you pIayed each hoIe (vvhich direction your shots vvere going etc..) and vievv your driving distances. AII you have to do is cIick the button to register the position you're hitting the baII from, then register the position the baII ends up, simpe as that! You can even teII it vvhich cIub you're hitting vvhich enabIes the G9 to update your average shot Iength for each cIub. Once you've buiIt up some personaI data, the G9 can recommend vvhich cIub you shouId take for your next shot! There's more...!
